RACE REPORT

On February 21, 2026, the second Tokai Tracklo Cross race took place at Sengoku Park in Toyota City, Aichi.

Riders gathered from across Japan, and once again, Hiromu—last year’s champion—claimed victory, defending his title with overwhelming speed and strength.

As the largest tracklocross race of the season, this event marked a significant step forward. After a full year of preparation, how has the race evolved from its first edition—and what lies ahead for the scene?

This report takes a closer look at the event.

2026年2月21日、愛知県豊田市・千石公園にて、2回目となる東海トラッククロスのレースが開催された。

全国から集まったライダーの頂点に立ったのは、前回大会に続き優勝を果たしたヒロム。圧倒的な速さと強さで連覇を達成した。

今シーズン最大規模のトラクロレースとなった本大会。1年の準備期間を経て、前回からどのように進化したのか。そしてその先に見えたものとは何か。

その模様をレポートとしてお届けする。

WHAT IS TOKAI TRACKLO CROSS

As previously introduced in an earlier article, Tokai Tracklo Cross is a collective built around tracklocross as “play” rather than purely as competition.

以前の記事でも紹介している通り、東海トラッククロスは「遊び」としてのトラックロクロスを軸に活動する団体だ。

COURSE

The course measured approximately 1 km in length.

Set almost entirely on flat grass, riders were able to stay on the bike throughout, except for the chicanes, making it a power-focused course where pedaling never stops.

At the same time, multiple slalom sections added technical complexity, creating constant position changes and a dynamic, engaging race.

コースの全長は約1km。

ほぼ全面フラットの芝で構成され、シケイン以外で降車する場面はなく、終始ペダルを踏み続けるパワーコースとなっている。

一方でスラロームなどのテクニカルセクションも組み込まれており、順位の入れ替わりが激しく、見応えのあるレース展開が生まれた。

NEW RIDERS EMERGING

This year saw 53 riders on the start line, a number similar to the previous edition.

However, participation from younger riders in their teens and twenties increased significantly. Nearly half of the entrants were first-time participants, including some who purchased a fixed gear bike specifically to race.

The event became a place to encounter a new generation—“unseen Japanese tracklocross riders”—who will shape the future of the scene.

今回の出走者は53名。昨年とほぼ同数ながら、10〜20代の参加が増加した。

中にはこのレースに出るために固定ギアを購入したライダーもおり、全体の約半数が初参加という結果となった。

今後のトラクロシーンに繋がる、「未だ見ぬ日本のトラクロクロッサー」と出会う機会となった。

TRACKLOCROSS AS STREET PLAY

This edition strongly reflected tracklocross as an extension of street culture.

From Le Mans-style starts with shuffled bikes, to chaotic pile starts, and even bikes being hidden outside the course—unexpected elements kept riders constantly off balance.

In the final, the course direction was suddenly reversed just before the start, reinforcing that tracklocross is not about predictable racing.

From the race through to the afterparty, DJ sets by the Haishin Dark crew from Osaka transformed the venue into something closer to a street session than a conventional race event.

今大会は、ストリートから派生したトラクロの「遊び」の要素が色濃く表れた。

ル・マン式のシャッフルスタートや自転車山積みスタート、さらにはコース外に自転車を隠されるなど、独特な演出が続いた。

決勝ではスタート直前にコース逆走へ変更されるなど、単純なレースに留まらないのもトラクロの特徴だ。

さらに、大阪のハイシンダークルーによるDJプレイがレースからアフターパーティまで空間を支え、従来の競技会とは異なるストリート的な空気が生まれていた。

ALL TRACKLO CROSS

Following the final, an open “All Tracklo Cross” race invited all riders back onto the course.

Red smoke—associated with the Akuro Fixed Club—was used as part of the start, paying respect to their presence in the scene.

Rather than focusing on rankings, riders prioritized expression and style, using the race course as a space to play.

As the sun began to set, the scene felt closer to a parade than a competition, sharing the essence of tracklocross as entertainment across the entire venue.

決勝後には「All Tracklo Cross」と題した全員参加のファンレースが行われた。

惡路固定倶楽部へのリスペクトを込め、赤いスモークをスタート演出として使用。

順位を競うのではなく、それぞれのスタイルを表現することを優先し、コースを使って自由に「遊ぶ」時間となった。

日が傾く中、その光景はまるでパレードのようで、会場全体でトラクロの魅力が共有された。
