琉球CRIT in 北谷｜沖縄初のピストクリテが生んだ“熱”と“文化”の一日**

2025年11月15日、北谷町美浜で沖縄初となるピストバイクのクリテリウムレース〈琉球CRIT〉が開催された。
海沿いのボードウォークを舞台に、レース・キッズイベント・安全教室・花火・エイサーが混ざり合い、唯一無二の“沖縄発・都市型レース文化”が誕生した。

1. RYUKYU CRITとは？
沖縄・北谷町美浜――観光地として知られるアメリカンヴィレッジの一角に特設されたコースで、沖縄初となるピストのクリテリウムレース〈RYUKYU CRIT〉が開催された。クリテリウムとは短い周回コースを高速で駆け抜ける都市型バイクレースのこと。観客の目の前を何度も通るため、迫力と臨場感は群を抜く。
2. SHUHARI BIKE WORKSが描いた“沖縄レースの夢”
発起人は地元ショップ SHUHARI BIKE WORKS のオーナー・レタス。「沖縄でピストレースを開催したい」という想いからスフィダーレクリットの協力を得て実現。さらに「北谷町を丸ごと貸し切り、モナコGPのようなレースをしたい」という壮大なビジョンも語られた。
3. ボードウォークを駆け抜けるクリテリウム
SHUHARIから徒歩1分の海沿いボードウォーク。木製デッキの上を海風を切って走る光景は、沖縄ならではのもの。台風予報を覆し、当日は快晴。風も弱く、絶好のレース日和となった。
4. 豆チャリ、キッズ、安全教室――沖縄らしさ全開のコンテンツ
RYUKYU CRITは単なるレースではない。豆チャリレース、タンデムバイク、変わり種カテゴリー、そして紙芝居形式の自転車安全教室まで。当日レンタルのキッズにも声をかけ、その場でエントリーするなど、地域全体で楽しめる“沖縄の祭り”としての空気が広がっていた。
5. 夕暮れとともに高まるレースの熱
時間とともに光は傾き、海と木デッキがオレンジに染まる。シルエット越しに映るライダーの姿はまるで映画のワンシーン。女子レースでは気迫あふれるバトルが繰り広げられ、観客のボルテージは最高潮に達した。
6. SHUHARIでのスピンルームとアフターパーティー
夜はSHUHARIに戻り、名物のスピンルームへ。ローラー勝負に店内は熱狂し、勝者が拳を突き上げる瞬間には大歓声が上がった。レース後の余韻がそのままパーティーに流れ込み、熱量のまま夜が進んでいく。
7. 花火とエイサーが締めくくった“沖縄の夜”
その後、再び会場へ移動すると、北谷名物の花火が夜空に咲く。この日はレースと重なり、格別の景色となった。さらに江口青年会によるエイサー演舞が行われ、太鼓と掛け声が会場全体を包み込む。沖縄らしい、文化とレースが融合したフィナーレだった。
8. まとめ：RYUKYU CRITはここから文化になる
このイベントには“レース以上のもの”があった。ライダー、キッズ、家族、ローカルショップ、観客、文化団体――すべてが混ざり合い、沖縄に新しいスポーツカルチャーが芽生えた瞬間だった。

RYUKYU CRIT in Chatan – Okinawa’s First Fixed-Gear Criterium
On November 15th, 2025, the very first fixed-gear criterium race in Okinawa, RYUKYU CRIT, was held in the seaside town of Chatan, Mihama.The course was set along a wooden boardwalk facing the ocean, creating a unique atmosphere that blended racing, local culture, and the natural beauty of Okinawa.
The event was organized by SHUHARI BIKE WORKS, a beloved local bike shop celebrating its 5th anniversary. The owner, Retas, had a long-standing dream to host a fixed-gear race in Okinawa. With support from Sfida Race Crew, that vision finally became reality.His future goal is even bigger: “One day, I want to close down all of Chatan and hold a race like the Monaco GP.”
RYUKYU CRIT was more than just a race. Alongside the main fixed-gear battles, the event featured kids’ races, tandem and fun-bike categories, and even a picture-story-style safety workshop for children. Many local kids joined on the spot, giving the event a warm, community-driven feel.
As the sun set, the race scenery transformed into a cinematic silhouette against the orange sky. The women's race, in particular, delivered powerful and emotional moments that captivated the crowd.
After the races, riders and spectators returned to SHUHARI BIKE WORKS for the afterparty, where the shop’s “spin room” turned into a loud and energetic roller-race battleground.
The night concluded with Chatan’s weekly fireworks display and a traditional Eisa performance by the Eguchi Youth Association—an unforgettable fusion of Okinawan culture and cycling.
RYUKYU CRIT marks the beginning of a new cycling culture in Okinawa.This event was not just about speed; it was about community, creativity, and the unique spirit of the island.We’re already excited to see how it grows in the coming years.
